In an exclusive interview with The5%ers, funded trader Sandrina shared details of her three-year trading journey, outlining her account growth, payout record, and experience balancing financial markets with family life.
Sandrina, 31, began trading with the initial goal of supporting her partner but soon developed her own structured approach. She acknowledged that her early phase in the markets was not profitable and required time to refine. After starting on the 4-hour time frame, she later transitioned to the 5-minute and 1-minute charts, explaining that shorter time frames better suited her personality and decision-making style.
Interview with Sandrina: From $60K to $80K Scaling at The5%ers
Addressing the perception of trading as a male-dominated field, Sandrina said her focus has always remained internal rather than comparative. “The only person I have to compete with is myself,” she stated, adding that she avoids comparing her journey with others in the industry.
She began her journey at The5%ers with a $60,000 funded account and successfully scaled it to $80,000. To date, she has received $11,988 in payouts. Rather than concentrating solely on withdrawals, Sandrina emphasized that her long-term objective is consistent performance and continued scaling, with the goal of eventually reaching stable monthly payouts at a similar level.
Her strategy centers on trading indices, particularly NASDAQ and DAX. Sandrina combines higher time frame level marking with lower time frame execution, relying on pattern recognition such as consolidation and breakout formations. She typically takes three to five trades per day when active, although her schedule is around family responsibilities.
As a mother of two, Sandrina described trading as demanding but manageable with structure and communication. She openly discusses both profitable and losing days with her children, explaining emotional responses and reinforcing resilience. She noted that involving her family in her journey has created additional motivation and accountability.
Beyond trading, Sandrina is also developing a children’s book project, originally created for her own children but potentially intended for a wider audience in the future.
