In a recent interview with SpiceProp, Austrian trader Marcel Surd shared how he earned €8,937.80 in just two weeks by completing the Sweet Pepper 150K challenge. Surd, who has been trading for 3.5 years, made 49 trades during the challenge, 40 of which were profitable, resulting in a total profit of €34,538.29.
Surd explained that the key to his success was patience and maintaining emotional control during trades. “Patience was key during the challenge,” he stated, adding that staying emotionless helped him make rational decisions. His trading strategy focuses on waiting for the market to sweep key liquidity levels before entering when signs of reversal or retesting appear.
Interview with SpiceProp: Austrian Trader Marcel Surd’s Journey
When asked about the qualities that helped him succeed, Surd emphasized perseverance, discipline, and resilience—traits he considers vital in the trading world. Despite facing setbacks and losing several accounts, Surd viewed these challenges as valuable learning experiences. Even after losing many accounts, I considered it all an investment in myself,” he said.
Surd also shared some valuable advice for aspiring traders: “Make as many mistakes as you can afford in the market, and learn from each one.” He believes that experience and the ability to learn from mistakes separate the best traders from the average ones.
In terms of resources, Surd follows influential figures like ICT, Tom H., and AnonimFx, who have helped shape his trading philosophy. However, he emphasized that while learning from others is important, personal experience through testing and making mistakes is ultimately the most valuable teacher.
