Goat Funded Trader Introduces Customisable Challenge Rules

Home » Goat Funded Trader Introduces Customisable Challenge Rules

Goat Funded Trader has introduced customisable challenge rules, giving traders more control over their evaluation conditions and account costs. The new feature allows customers to adjust selected risk parameters on specific 100K funding plans in exchange for lower entry fees, creating a pricing structure that links account costs directly to the rules traders choose.

Rather than offering a single fixed evaluation package, Goat Funded Trader now lets traders decide which restrictions they are willing to accept. The update introduces two specific configurations, with potential savings of up to $100 on the advertised account prices.

How Goat Funded Trader Customisable Challenge Rules Work

The new options cover two account models: the 2-Step GOAT and the 1-Step evaluation. Both offer traders a lower purchase price when they select a stricter risk condition.

For the 2-Step GOAT 100K account, traders can activate a 1% Floating Loss Limit and reduce the purchase price to $198, saving $100. This option may appeal to traders who prefer a more controlled approach to exposure and are comfortable operating within a tighter floating-loss restriction.

The 1-Step 100K account offers a different adjustment. Traders can select a 2% Max Daily Loss instead of 3%, bringing the advertised price down from $344 to $248. That represents a $96 reduction, although traders must decide whether the tighter daily drawdown allowance suits their trading strategy.

Both configurations retain leverage of up to 1:100. Goat Funded Trader also advertises bi-weekly rewards and an optional profit split add-on ranging from 80% to 100%.

Lower Entry Fees Come With Different Risk Conditions

The interesting aspect of this update is the connection between evaluation rules and pricing. Traditionally, traders compare prop firm challenges based on account size, evaluation stages, drawdown limits and purchase fees. Goat Funded Trader is introducing another consideration: whether paying less is worth accepting a particular restriction.

For traders with disciplined position sizing and predictable exposure, the discounted configurations could offer a more cost-efficient entry point. However, a lower purchase price does not automatically make an account easier to pass. A 1% floating loss limit can become restrictive during periods of temporary unrealised losses, even when a trading position eventually recovers.

The reduced daily loss allowance on the 1-Step account also deserves careful consideration. Traders using strategies with multiple positions, wider stop-losses or volatile intraday setups may find a 2% daily threshold more challenging than the original 3% allowance. The savings should therefore be evaluated against the likelihood of breaching the selected limit.

What the Pricing Strategy Means for Prop Traders

This approach introduces a more segmented pricing model into the evaluation market. Instead of treating every trader as someone who needs identical account conditions, the firm allows customers to make a financial trade-off based on their preferred risk parameters.

There is also a behavioural consideration. Lower entry fees can make traders more willing to purchase an evaluation, but stricter conditions may increase the importance of preparation and risk management. Traders should avoid choosing a configuration simply because it offers the largest discount.

The bi-weekly reward schedule and optional 80–100% profit split add-on remain relevant when calculating the overall value of the funding program. The initial challenge fee is only one part of the equation; traders should also understand the applicable payout requirements, reward eligibility conditions, and any additional costs associated with optional features.

Is the New Goat Funded Trader Offer Worth Considering?

The new configurations provide two distinct opportunities for traders seeking a lower-cost 100K evaluation. The 2-Step GOAT plan offers the larger advertised saving of $100, while the 1-Step option reduces the entry fee by $96 in exchange for a tighter daily loss allowance.

Ultimately, the better choice depends on trading style rather than the size of the discount. Traders should review the complete challenge rules before purchasing, particularly how floating losses and daily drawdown limits are calculated and enforced.
