FundedNext has reinstated weekend holding across its Stellar accounts after previously suspending the feature earlier this year due to market volatility concerns.
The prop firm announced that, effective 8 May 2026, traders using Stellar 1-Step, Stellar 2-Step, and Stellar Lite accounts can once again keep positions open through the weekend. Weekend holding had already remained available for Stellar Instant accounts during the restriction period.
Under the updated policy, trades will no longer be automatically closed at Friday market close. This allows traders to maintain positions over multiple days without interruption. The change also enables participants to hold macro-driven or swing trading setups through the weekend without forcing them to exit positions before markets shut.
FundedNext Brings Back Weekend Holding for Stellar Accounts
FundedNext explained that the restriction was initially introduced on 17 January 2026 during a period of heightened market volatility. According to the firm, unstable market conditions at the time created elevated risks for traders carrying exposure through weekends, particularly during unexpected geopolitical and macroeconomic developments that could trigger sharp price gaps at market open.
The firm stated that market conditions have since stabilized, leading to the removal of the temporary restriction. FundedNext noted that the volatility-driven risks that prompted the pause have eased, making it possible to restore the feature across the affected account types.
Weekend holding is an important feature among prop traders who use swing trading or longer-term strategies, as forced closures before weekends can interrupt trade planning and broader market positioning. The return of the feature may appeal to traders seeking greater flexibility in managing trades tied to economic trends, central bank expectations, or ongoing geopolitical developments.
The update applies specifically to FundedNext’s Stellar account models and took effect immediately from the announced date.
