In an exclusive interview with FundedNext, Jonathan, one of the firm’s top traders, opens up about his inspiring journey to success in the trading world. From a painful early setback to becoming a skilled and strategic trader, Jonathan’s story is a testament to the power of persistence and learning from failure.
Jonathan first entered the world of trading in 2015, borrowing $1,500 from his sister to try his luck in the financial markets. However, his initial experience didn’t go as planned, and he ended up losing the entire amount. “It was a difficult lesson,” Jonathan recalls. “I didn’t know what I was doing back then, and it cost me dearly.” Disheartened, he decided to step away from trading, but the passion for the markets lingered in his mind.
Exclusive Interview with FundedNext, Jonathan Reveals His Journey
Fast forward to December 2021, and Jonathan made the decision to return to trading with a renewed focus. “This time, I told myself I would give it two to three years to truly learn and get better,” he explains. Jonathan took a disciplined approach to his learning, enrolling in multiple structured trading courses. He studied market structure, supply and demand, and order flow in detail, gradually developing his own trading style.
Jonathan’s background as a civil engineer and entrepreneur provided him with a strong analytical mindset that greatly aided his trading journey. His experience working with international organizations like the United Nations also helped him approach trading with a methodical and strategic outlook. “I’ve always been drawn to systems and analysis, and that definitely translated into my trading,” he says.
