SuperTrade has shared a community interview detailing the trading journey of a trader who progressed from having no prior market experience to managing a funded account within a relatively short period.
The firm shared the story of Carlos, a customer service employee in Colombia, who earns approximately $380 per month. With no background in trading, Carlos began by spending two to three weeks studying basic concepts through free online resources before purchasing his first evaluation challenge, priced at $25.
SuperTrade Interview Focuses on Small Challenges & Growth
His initial attempts were unsuccessful. In his first challenge, he violated the daily drawdown rule within five days. During his second attempt, he came close to passing but missed the required profit target by 0.3% on day 12. On his third attempt, however, he completed the challenge successfully on day 18. Overall, he spent $75 and took around six weeks to move from beginner to funded trader.
After securing funding, Carlos adopted a cautious approach. In his first month, he placed only two to three trades per week and generated a return of 6.8%. Following the firm’s profit split, his first payout totaled $680, exceeding his regular monthly salary.
As of March 2026, SuperTrade stated that Carlos is managing a $50,000 funded account, generating approximately $1,200 per month. Despite this additional income, he continues working in his customer service role while considering a transition to full-time trading later this year.
In the interview, Carlos emphasized the importance of patience and gradual progress. He advised new traders to focus on learning, avoid rushing into larger risks, and build consistency through smaller challenge attempts over time within structured trading environments.
