Upcomers Horizon Challenge Drops Consistency Rule

Home » Upcomers Horizon Challenge Drops Consistency Rule

Upcomers has introduced the Upcomers Horizon challenge, a new 1-step funding program designed around one of the rules traders often find restrictive: consistency requirements. The new model removes the Consistency and Best Day Rule during both the evaluation and funded stages, giving traders more flexibility in how they distribute their profits while pursuing the required target.

Upcomers Horizon challenge introduces a 1-step evaluation with no consistency rule, a 9% target, and up to 100% profit split.

Upcomers Horizon Challenge Uses One Evaluation

Horizon requires traders to reach a 9% profit target in a single evaluation phase. Once the target is reached and all positions are close, the trader can progress to the funded account rather than completing a separate verification stage. Account sizes range from $5,000 to $1.5 million, giving the program a broad entry point for different trading preferences.

The challenge also carries a 3% daily drawdown and a 6% Dynamic Risk Shield. Traders must complete at least two trading days, with a qualifying day requiring at least 0.5% profit based on the initial account balance.

That combination creates an interesting trade-off. Removing consistency rules gives traders more freedom to generate returns unevenly, but the 3% daily limit and trailing Dynamic Risk Shield still impose meaningful constraints on risk management. The absence of a consistency rule therefore should not be a permission to pursue unrestricted high-risk trading.

Why Removing the Best Day Rule Matters

Consistency rules can affect otherwise profitable traders because a large winning day may force them to generate additional profits before they can satisfy payout conditions. Horizon removes that additional calculation.

For traders whose strategies naturally produce uneven returns, particularly those who wait for high-conviction market setups, this can make the account structure easier to work with. A trader does not have to deliberately spread gains across multiple sessions simply to satisfy a profit-distribution requirement.

The funded stage retains the same absence of a consistency rule, while introducing its own conditions. Traders can request payouts every 14 days after generating at least 3% profit from the initial balance and meeting the applicable trading-day requirement. The profit split can reach 100%.

Risk Rules Still Shape the Strategy

The headline feature is the removal of consistency restrictions, but the risk framework remains central. Horizon’s Dynamic Risk Shield moves upward with profits and does not move back down, meaning traders need to consider how open-profit gains can affect the amount of drawdown available later.

There is also a maximum single-trade loss of 1.5% on the funded account. This is particularly relevant for traders attracted to the program because of its flexible profit distribution: the account still distinguishes between freedom over when profits are generated and limits on how much can be risked on an individual position.

This makes Horizon strategically different from simply removing every restriction. Upcomers is giving traders more flexibility over their return profile while retaining risk controls designed to prevent a single position from determining the entire account outcome.

A Different Position Within Upcomers’ Funding Range

The launch also expands an already broad Upcomers offering. The firm provides multiple one-step and two-step challenges alongside instant funding, futures and perpetual funding products, with CFD account sizes reaching $1.5 million and a scaling pathway advertised up to $4 million in managed capital.

For traders, that variety makes account selection more important. Horizon may appeal most to those who dislike Best Day restrictions, while another Upcomers model could make more sense for a trader whose strategy prioritizes different drawdown or payout mechanics.

The practical advantage of Horizon is therefore not simply that it has fewer rules. It is that one of the most strategy-sensitive restrictions has been removed without eliminating the risk controls that govern the account.
