RebelsFunding October Trading Competition Starts Oct 5

Home » RebelsFunding October Trading Competition Starts Oct 5

RebelsFunding is opening its October trading competition to traders for free, with the event beginning on October 5 and the top 150 participants eligible for trading programs worth up to $320,000. For traders, the zero-entry-cost structure makes the promotion more than a conventional marketing campaign: it gives participants a way to engage with the firm’s trading environment without first paying for an evaluation.

The competition will run throughout October, with traders competing for leaderboard positions based on their performance. RebelsFunding has not disclosed the full competition rules in the announcement, so traders should review the applicable terms before entering, particularly around drawdown limits, eligible instruments, ranking methodology and prize allocation.

RebelsFunding launches its October trading competition on October 5, offering free entry and up to $320,000 in trading programs.

RebelsFunding October Trading Competition Offers Free Entry

The central feature is straightforward: registration is free, and traders do not need to purchase a funding challenge to participate.

The firm says the top 150 traders can receive trading programs, with the prize pool reaching up to $320,000 in trading programs. That distinction matters. The advertised figure refers to the value of trading programs awarded through the competition rather than a cash prize pool.

RebelsFunding already operates several account models, ranging from multi-stage evaluations to its Diamond program. Its current offering includes Copper, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Diamond accounts, with account sizes reaching as high as $320,000.

Why the Free Competition Matters for Traders

A free trading competition removes one of the biggest friction points in the prop-firm acquisition funnel: the upfront challenge fee.

Normally, traders have to decide whether a particular evaluation structure justifies paying for access. A free competition changes that calculation because participants can potentially earn access to a trading program while putting no evaluation fee at risk. It can therefore appeal to traders who want to test their execution and risk management before committing capital to a paid account.

There is also a behavioural component. Leaderboard competitions can encourage traders to increase risk in pursuit of short-term performance, especially when rankings depend heavily on returns. That makes the competition rules particularly important. A trader who normally operates within conservative risk parameters may be tempted to alter position sizing simply to move higher on the leaderboard.

For that reason, the headline prize should not be viewed separately from the competition’s actual scoring and risk rules. A large potential account allocation has limited value if the route to earning it encourages trading behaviour that does not match a participant’s normal strategy.

RebelsFunding’s Funding Structure Adds Context

The October campaign also fits into a broader RebelsFunding model that gives traders several routes toward funded trading.

The firm’s Copper Program uses a four-step evaluation, while Bronze has three stages, Silver has two and Gold uses a one-step evaluation. The Diamond Program provides an alternative without a conventional evaluation process.

For several of these programs, RebelsFunding advertises no maximum trading-day requirement, while evaluation accounts still include defined profit targets and loss limits. Its current review also lists first payout eligibility after 14 calendar days and bi-weekly withdrawals for relevant funded programs.

That makes the competition potentially useful as an entry point rather than simply a standalone promotional event. A trader who earns a prize account can then evaluate the firm’s broader account structure based on the actual rules attached to the awarded program.

Leaderboard Mechanics Could Be More Important Than the Prize Headline

The most important missing detail for traders is how performance will translate into leaderboard placement.

If rankings are determined primarily by percentage return, the competition could favour aggressive strategies. If the system incorporates drawdown, consistency or risk-adjusted performance, the incentives would look materially different. Those mechanics determine whether traders are rewarded mainly for generating the largest return or for doing so while controlling risk.

Until RebelsFunding publishes the complete October competition terms, traders should avoid assuming that the $320,000 headline figure represents the typical prize available to participants. The announcement only confirms that the top 150 traders can win trading programs, with awards reaching that maximum.

What Traders Should Check Before October 5

Anyone considering the free competition should check the full terms once available, particularly:

  • How leaderboard rankings are calculated
  • Maximum daily and overall drawdown limits
  • Whether specific instruments or strategies are restricted
  • How the 150 winning positions are determined
  • Which account sizes correspond to different leaderboard positions
  • Whether prizes have additional activation or trading conditions
  • The deadline for registration and competition entry

Those details can have a greater practical impact than the headline prize value. Traders should also distinguish between winning a trading program and receiving an immediate cash payout, since the two are not equivalent.

RebelsFunding’s October event nevertheless creates a low-cost way for traders to compete for funded-account access without paying an evaluation fee upfront. For participants who already have a defined risk strategy, the key question will be whether they can compete without abandoning the same discipline they would use on a standard funding challenge.
