FundedNext October Competition Offers $8K Cash Prizes

FundedNext is bringing its FundedNext October Competition into the firm’s new 14-day format, giving traders a shorter window to compete for $8,000 in cash prizes and hundreds of Stellar Instant Accounts. The free competition changes the equation for traders: instead of managing performance across an entire month, participants now have only the first two weeks to build their leaderboard position.

The shorter format was introduced from August 2026, with FundedNext positioning it as a faster way for traders to compete and receive rewards. The competition remains free to enter, meaning traders do not need to purchase a challenge to participate.

FundedNext October Competition runs for 14 days with $8,000 cash prizes and Stellar Instant Accounts available to 600 ranks.

FundedNext October Competition Runs for 14 Days

The October competition follows FundedNext’s new schedule of running from the 1st through the 14th of the month. The competition starts at 6:00 AM GMT+3 on the first day and ends at 7:00 PM GMT+3 on the 14th, subject to weekend adjustments.

Each participant receives a $100,000 Competition Account in a simulated environment. There is no conventional profit target or consistency requirement; traders have ranks according to their net account growth while remaining within the competition’s risk and trading restrictions.

The competition’s cash prizes are concentrated at the top:

  • 1st place: $5,000 cash + Stellar Instant $20K
  • 2nd place: $2,000 cash + Stellar Instant $20K
  • 3rd place: $1,000 cash + Stellar Instant $20K

Ranks 4–10 receive $20K Stellar Instant Accounts, while positions 11–20 receive $10K accounts. Traders finishing 21–50 receive $5K accounts, and ranks 51–100 receive $2K accounts.

October Traders Have More Than One Way to Win

One of the more interesting parts of the FundedNext October Competition is that the reward structure extends well beyond the top of the leaderboard.

Traders ranked 101–600 become eligible for a lottery, with 50 winners receiving Stellar Instant $2K Accounts. FundedNext says the lottery uses a published random-number process, with the results made available through the trader dashboard.

That changes the incentive structure. A trader does not necessarily need to finish among the highest-performing participants to receive something of value. Reaching the eligible leaderboard range creates another potential route to funded capital, which makes disciplined participation more rational than simply taking extreme risk in pursuit of first place.

The competition also generates a 7% discount code for new users on CFD plans, valid for 45 days after participation. The offer does not apply to resets.

What the 14-Day Window Means for Traders

The biggest strategic difference in October is the compressed trading period.

A trader who suffers a significant drawdown during the opening sessions has considerably less time to recover than under the previous month-long format. That can create a temptation to increase leverage or trade lower-quality setups simply to catch up with the leaderboard.

The competition rules make that particularly important. Participants must trade on at least five separate days to qualify for ranking, while the account has daily and maximum loss limits. FundedNext also limits traders to five open positions, five lots for forex and three lots for indices, commodities and metals. Copy trading, HFT and tick scalping are prohibited.

At the same time, traders are permitted to hold positions overnight and over weekends and can trade through scheduled news events including NFP, FOMC and CPI. The competition accounts are also swap-free during the competition.

That flexibility matters because the 14-day window does not necessarily force a particular trading style. A trader can still build a strategy around swing positions or major economic releases rather than attempting to scalp continuously throughout the competition.

Stellar Instant Accounts Make the Prize Structure More Significant

The Stellar Instant prizes are arguably more strategically useful than the cash component for traders interested in continuing with a prop firm’s funding model.

FundedNext’s Stellar Instant model provides access to a funded account without requiring traders to complete a traditional evaluation first. That means a competition participant who receives one of the account prizes can potentially move from a free simulated competition into a funded program without first purchasing another challenge.

From FundedNext’s perspective, this also creates a natural progression from competition participation into its wider funding ecosystem. The free competition acts as a low-friction entry point, while the account prizes give successful participants a reason to remain engaged with the firm’s programs.

October Competition Rewards Discipline Over Chasing

The October format should favor traders who understand the difference between competition performance and sustainable trading performance.

Because rankings are based on account growth, aggressive traders can naturally push the leaderboard quickly. But the same behavior can expose an account to the daily and maximum loss limits, eliminating the possibility of finishing in a prize position altogether.

For that reason, the five-day trading requirement is relatively manageable compared with the 14-day window. Traders do not need to manufacture setups every day. Maintaining eligibility while selectively trading higher-conviction opportunities can be more useful than trying to force a spectacular return during the opening sessions.

The live leaderboard adds another psychological variable. FundedNext allows participants to monitor their ranking as they trade, which provides useful feedback but can also encourage traders to react emotionally to other participants’ performance.

For experienced prop traders, that makes risk discipline particularly important: the leaderboard should inform the strategy, not dictate it.

FundedNext October Competition Gives Traders a Free Funding Route

The October competition combines a zero-entry-cost trading opportunity, $8,000 in cash prizes and a broad distribution of Stellar Instant Accounts. With rewards extending as far as the top 600 leaderboard positions through direct prizes and the lottery, the structure is designed to give more traders a potential route to funded capital rather than concentrating all rewards among the top three.

The 14-day format also makes the event easier to fit into a trader’s existing routine. But the shorter window raises the cost of poor risk management: there is less time to recover from an early mistake, and chasing the leaderboard can quickly turn a competitive opportunity into an account-rule problem.

For traders considering the October event, the practical priority is therefore straightforward: understand the loss limits, meet the five-day requirement, and treat the competition as a controlled trading exercise rather than a reason to abandon normal risk parameters.
